This decision was made based on three criteria: a 14-day morbidity rate of 100,000. the percentage of the population that tested positive within 7 days and the percentage of non-outbreak / outbreak-related cases within 7 days.

According to epidemiological indicators, all Lithuanian municipalities are divided into zones according to the colors of the traffic lights: green, yellow and red.

To date, the coronavirus has been detected in 143 people in the Klaipėda district and 61 people are sick. There are currently more than 600 people in self-isolation.

The duration of the annual fall vacation in educational institutions has also been decided and will not be extended. However, some students will have to study remotely a week later.

Fall break for district schoolchildren will begin on Monday, October 26 and will last only one week, as usual. However, some children will not return to school until November 9. For another week after the break, students in grades 5-12 will study remotely. Kindergartens, preschoolers and primary school children will be educated as usual.

“Since the municipalities where the quarantine was announced can make their own decisions about the educational process, we believe that closing kindergartens to non-contact education would be an excessive measure. This would cause a lot of problems for the parents. Therefore, the decision was made to continue the educational process in the district kindergartens even during the quarantine. The same situation with beginners. Although they will be on vacation next week, they will be able to go back to school after vacation, ”says Klaipėda district mayor Bronius Markauskas.

Non-formal education for children and adults will also be carried out remotely or will be suspended entirely. Such a solution is expected to help control the spread of the coronavirus. Recently, up to a quarter of the new diseases diagnosed in the country on a daily basis are registered in educational institutions.

Other suggestions were supported. The mandatory registration of visitors to places of leisure, entertainment, events, catering and other places has been established.

Visitor registration will not be required when the food is delivered to be taken away or delivered to natural and legal persons by other means. The registration will also not be mandatory for employees of catering establishments where shift work is performed.

The draft amendment to the government resolution shortens the opening hours of catering establishments, restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs and other entertainment venues: these establishments will be open from 7 am to midnight.

Opening hours will not be restricted in casinos and slot machines, bingo halls, gambling halls and betting points, unless catering is provided at these locations.

The Klaipėda District Municipality, which entered the red zone, received recommendations on the restriction of events, teleworking, education, review of health services, restriction of flows in commercial places and use of masks.
