A fisheries officer was shot dead by North Korean soldiers on Tuesday. Seoul says his remains were still set on fire in the water, presumably taking precautions for a possible coronavirus infection.
This is the first time in a decade that North Korean soldiers have fired at a South Korean citizen. The incident caused outrage in South Korea.

The man, wearing a life jacket, disappeared from a patrol boat near the western island of Jonpongdong on Monday, and North Korean soldiers found him in its waters after more than 24 hours.
South Korean media reports that it was a man in his fifties who had two children, but had recently been divorced and was in financial trouble.
North Korea closed its borders and declared a state of emergency in an attempt to protect itself against the coronavirus, which originated in neighboring China and spread around the world.
