The first dangerous occasion arose in the goal of Hockey Punks, when after Eduard Chekmaryov’s blocked shot, the hockey almost collided with the Vilnius goal of the representatives of the capital. Roman Rešetnikov had a chance in his zone shortly after his opponents’ mistake, but this Kaunas Hockey striker failed to excel either.
Finally, Kaunas residents who settled in the opponents’ zone opened their goal tally when E. Čekmaryovas took advantage of the confusion in the guest goal (07:02, manager Kirill Danilenka, Vytautas Jagelavičius). Even after the well-deserved goal, Kaunas Hockey did not slow down and kept organizing attack after attack, and punk goalkeeper Simas Baltrūnas had to save his team more than once from the second goal.
After a very difficult start, Hockey Punks managed to organize several longer attacks on the opponents’ goal only at the end of the quarter, but they did not cause any major problems for Artūras Pavliukovas. Meanwhile, Kaunas Hockey responded with several dangerous counterattacks, in which Kaunas residents lacked precision.
The Hockey Punks started the second half more actively, forcing their opponents to break the rules for the first time in the game. During the quantitative advantage, Vilnius residents managed to establish themselves on the side of Kaunas square, and during the long attack, A. Pavliukovas did not make a mistake when Pavilas Verenis had the opportunity to score close (24:56, res. Aivaras Bendžius , Ilja Želtakovas).
In the middle of the match, Kaunas Hockey twice forced opponents to break the rules, but on the first occasion Kaunas players wasted violating the composition rule, and then failed to excel during the next majority.
The third part started with a dangerous attack by the Hockey Punks, in which Aivaras Bendžius, who was on top, failed to outsmart the opponents’ goalkeeper in two attempts. Kaunas Hockey responded with his dangerous attack, during which Egidijus Binkulis, who went against the goalkeeper, left S. Baltrūnas no hope with a technical action (44:33, res. Foreman Vladislavas Šiškovas).
Towards the end of the match, the punk had a second chance for their majority, but unlike the first quantitative advantage, this time the guests failed to score. The defended team of Kaunas organized their dangerous attack, but this time E.Binkulis did not take the opportunity.
With the relentless end of the game, the Hockey Punks coach tried to save by switching the goalkeeper to the sixth player on the field, and the rebounding Kaunas Hockey team could not take advantage of it: their launch hit the crossbar. This allowed punk to extend their attempts to equalize the result, but the Kaunas team was right and enjoyed gold medals after the match.
E. Čekmaryovas was recognized as the most useful player in the final series and also received a special personal award in addition to gold medals.
