Users of the Facebook social network group Where the Police in Kaunas Stands were the first to report the strange parked car of the short-term rental company CityBee. With the inscription “The Wicked Handles Worked” they posted a photo of a CityBee without a wheel.

Photos of the car without wheels also appeared in other groups and personal accounts.

Odeta Vaitkevičienė, Kaunas County LSC Representative lrytas.lt reported that Kaunas d. Passersby found a Volkswagen car on Friday morning. Around 7 pm 25 min. Authorities were informed that a stolen CityBee car was parked in the Ringaudai nursing home, on the outskirts of the village of Miriniškės.

Police officers who fled the scene began to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

The car stayed on the sidewalk after the accident.

How lrytas.lt Svajūnas Aliukonis, CityBee’s chief of business operations, said the car was involved in a traffic accident Thursday night, after which it could no longer be operated. Therefore, a special technical assistance transport was called.

“Unfortunately, this time technical assistance was only able to reach the damaged car in the morning. The thieves seemed to work for the car overnight, so it ran out of wheels,” says the company’s response to lrytas.lt.

According to S. Alionis, the company has already approached the police about this fact. Company representatives say they don’t have a specific number of damage assessments yet.

“In the past, when the CityBee service was big news for everyone, we faced many different illegal and criminal attempts, but over time, the vast majority of the public realized that if a car is for carpooling, it is not. . it means you can do whatever you want with it. Now every now and then little things still disappear from our cars. For example, disinfectants were removed at the beginning of the quarantine.

However, the company rarely faces such blatant and drastic acts when CityBee cars are stolen in this way, making similar incidents very surprising and sad.

We trust law enforcement officials and are confident that, as before, they will identify criminals who will be held accountable for their actions in accordance with the law, ”says Svajūnas Aliukonis, CityBee’s director of business operations.
