Kaunas Clinic Facilities: New Outpatient Diagnostic Center Introduced

“The old premises, where the Consultative Polyclinic was located, began to function in the 1940s and has undergone many reconstructions, and today it no longer meets the requirements of modern outpatient services. For this reason, we are pleased that the new building has managed to guarantee all the conditions that allow the implementation of modern principles of patient management and the work of physicians ”.

According to Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga, the opening of the new Outpatient Diagnostic Center in the Kaunas Clinical City is a very important change not only for patients across Lithuania, but also for the medical community.

“The old building recalls the history of this hospital, but it no longer met modern requirements and the need for services in the Kaunas clinics is constantly expanding. The transfer of the provision of treatment services to the new building will improve not only the quality and accessibility of the services provided to patients, but also the working conditions of health professionals ”, said A. Veryga, congratulating on the occasion of the opening from the center.

Rector of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences prof. skilled. Dr. Remigijus Žaliūnas is pleased that the close cooperation between the University and Kaunas clinics and the new Outpatient Diagnostic Center will allow expanding diagnostic and treatment opportunities for patients, provide better conditions for healthcare professionals and provide more space for students to study and improve.

The new Outpatient Diagnostic Center meets health care facility standards. Convenient logistics solutions, large waiting and rest areas, a patient information system, and laboratory and instrumental diagnostics operating in the same building will ensure even better patient exams and faster treatment plans.

Modern heating and ventilation systems, comfortable work, rest areas and changing rooms will ensure modern working conditions for the broad-profile specialists working in the new building. Most of the offices installed in the Ambulatory Diagnostic Center are multifunctional and will be used according to the needs of the majority of patients. This will allow more efficient planning of the hospital’s work and increase the number of necessary health services as much as possible.

The Outpatient Diagnostic Center will provide inpatient therapy profile services on a daily basis. Patients are expected to be monitored after anesthesia procedures and only then released from the hospital. There were no such facilities in the old facilities, so patients were hospitalized after these procedures.

The historical building of the former Consultative Polyclinic is included in the list of architectural heritage, no changes were possible in it, so it was decided to build a new building in the Kaunas city clinics.

The total area of ​​the Outpatient Diagnosis Center is 6500 m2 M. meter. The new building is scheduled to open to patients later this year. Between 2,000 and 2,500 patients are expected to visit him a day. At the new center, patients will receive health care services from 14 doctors from various specialties.
