Kasiulevičius: the virus will be the biggest threat this year and next

In his Facebook account, the teacher writes that everything is yet to come and that we must prepare for the fall. According to him, more than ninety percent of the population does not have immunity to the virus, and the expected vaccine will not be available in the fall.

We present you prof. V. Kasiulevičius’s recording, in which the professor reviews next year in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic:

Let’s not be naive. The new virus is and will be the greatest threat to our healthcare system, our economy, and ultimately our daily lives this year and next. And even those people who deny a pandemic do not believe in all the risks of that pandemic. Maybe even more for those people. Lithuania may close or, conversely, ignore the quarantine, but the economy will continue to decline, as it is enough to close the Polish border, German airports, Chinese factories, and no matter how many Swedes remain in cafes. It is difficult to summarize, but the effective quarantine seems to allow the country to open earlier when the outbreak disappears, giving it an opportunity to recover the economy. While you would not be sure about the economy, we are already sharing gifts from left to right as if a tsunami had erupted. There was no tsunami yet. When we survive next fall, winter, and spring, we can share gifts or what’s left of them. But I am not an economist or a statesman. They know what makes them better than us. Probably.

Why do we all need to prepare well for fall? It is already clear enough that the virus does not like certain humidity and temperatures that are abundant at the moment. And if human organisms knew this virus the same way they know the flu, there would be no outbreaks in the summer. Everyone wonders what the actual number of people in Lithuania is. I hope that all permits are obtained through such a study and that Kaunas colleagues are successful, but I can tell you now, only a small percentage at best. More than ninety percent of our population has no immunity. Therefore, summer or non-summer, and the virus will remain if the contacts are close. Living in an apartment or working in an office with the virus doesn’t matter what time of year. 9 out of 10 have no immunity in Lithuania, however summer is good because the virus is more difficult to spread in the form of drops or sprays, and its own sustainability is less. What another cold season. We have to prepare for it without illusions. We won’t have the vaccine in the fall, so maybe someone with an exception will smile for the purpose of the experiment. Remdesivir is incredibly expensive, not oseltamivir for the flu. There are no more places in the hospitals, several hundred LT will complete the sixth course of doctors, but the deterioration of the situation of other chronic diseases will not allow them to use all their strength for the COVID-19 problem. No boyfriend will ride a white horse and clothe a virgin infected with the virus. He will not recover from that, he will infect the boyfriend sooner.

What do we have left? Same mode of movement restriction, teleworking, tests (PCR and serology), masks, gloves and disinfectant. This has been confirmed many times and will work in the winter. And clearly, the medical experience gained in the treatment. You can curse Lithuanian doctors as much as your heart desires, but by dividing the number of sick by the number of dead, we really don’t look like the last fools. But it is also thanks to all of you who have adhered to the restrictions and the fact that the health care system has not been exhausted, even though the doctors started to get infected fairly quickly. But when restrictions are lifted, something simple happens: 30-40 percent of doctors are infected, some colleagues die, and the rest begin to doubt if they are doing their duty. I’m not afraid, but maybe you don’t need that scenario. There will never be crying about segregation of the elderly and distant psychological stress. In Bergamo, Italy, the death toll during the pandemic increased 500 percent. And then the economy doesn’t care much anymore. Therefore, I sincerely wish to invite entrepreneurs not to invest in the fight against a possible new quarantine in the autumn, which will probably be announced too late due to the elections, but simply to try to adapt the economy to a regime of various restrictions. .

And if a miracle happens and there’s nothing, you can say, well, that Kasiulevičius panic spreader prepared for the Seimas. It will only be after the Seimas elections. Trolls will have to specify again, to 2024 Seimas. And what other party and nationality to choose because I see that some people have difficulties with fantasy in a trolley factory?
