Karbauskis blames conservatives for the dissatisfaction of the elderly: it is a game of human life.

“Conservative propaganda has begun to deny the threat of the coronavirus to older people and to accuse the government of allegedly discriminating against older people for not visiting public places.” I see this as a deliberate intrusion into these people’s lives and I want to argue.

Conservatives calling for a state of emergency hand over emergency management to the military, seeing that the first wave of coronavirus had been successfully controlled and ultimately did not interrupt the rulers’ ambition to pay an additional € 200 for each older person, they embarked on a new blackmail plan: recommending, if they have the opportunity to stay home and not visit public places, look for one thing: discriminate and humiliate them, “wrote R. Karbauskis on Facebook.

According to the politician, “it is unfortunate that, as a result of the electoral campaign, the conservatives spread propaganda and try to play with the emotions of the people where such a game essentially becomes a game of human life.”

“All recommendations for older people, which require avoiding meetings, public places, and being at home whenever possible, are based on the one desire: to protect older people and prevent their death,” wrote R. Karbauskis.

Statistics provided

The LVŽS President provided statistical and expert evaluations to corroborate his position.

“On April 2 of this year. H.P., Director, Regional Region, World Health Organization, Europe Kluge said:” Older people are at significantly higher risk of serious illness after being infected with COVID-19. This is a very important observation for the European region: of the 30 countries with the highest death rates for the elderly in the world, all (except Japan) are Member States of the EU. <…> We know that 95 percent of the dead are over 60 years old. <…>Statistics in the United States are similar: More than half of older people between the ages of 65 and 84 are hospitalized with COVID-19, with death rates of up to 11 percent and death rates of up to 27 per percent among people over 85 years old.

We must sincerely repent and sympathize with our loved ones, there are also many deaths from COVID-19 in Lithuania, ”wrote R. Karbauskis.

The politician pointed out that in our country, the figures, as in the rest of the world, are detrimental to the elderly: if the mortality rate of people under 60 is very low, then it increases dramatically, and COVID-19 years: even one in five older adults and half of infected older adults are hospitalized.

“We want to remind you that the coronavirus has not disappeared, we have only managed to control the first wave of its spread. China has managed to do the same, but now the second wave of the virus has spread and more than 108 million people have been isolated in China. again.

It is to be expected that all employers, directors of various institutions, correctly evaluate the recommendations and do not interpret them in a way that transforms them into prohibitions. No government has the right to prohibit older people from being where they want to be and doing what they want. It is the duty of the authorities to warn of possible threats and take measures to protect the health and well-being of the country’s citizens. We all love our parents, our grandparents, so we protect them from this coronavirus so that we can save time before effective vaccines and medications are available and will make this virus less dangerous to their lives. We want our older adults to be healthy, live long, and be happy, “wrote R. Karbauskis.
