K. Adomaitis works in the capital city council since 2015, chaired the municipal Economy and Finance Committee.
He, like most of the proposed Cabinet, will be a newcomer to this position if approved.
“It is a challenge and a great responsibility, of course. I think it will be possible to bring a new approach, new angles, to the way the Ministry of Transport and Communications should work and operate. Because I will bring a lot of experience in the private sector” 15 minutes he said, adding that he is not a rookie in politics because he has been working in the municipality for five years.
K. Adomaitis said there will definitely be things to learn.
The team is coming together little by little
“But you will need to build a strong team, a team and it will be the main fulcrum that will fill you up if you need specific knowledge or experience to deal with certain problems,” he said.

And who will be on that team, maybe the candidate has already heard the first “yes”?
“I’m already speaking tentatively, I have preliminary answers, but I think everything is still at a very early stage, the final decisions will be when there is a response from the president,” he said.
Speaking of the first works, K. Adomaitis pointed out that the Ministry of Transport and Communications has so far been the Ministry of Roads and Sidewalks.
“I would like it to become a support for the implementation of the European Green Course. The Ministry of Transport and Communications is precisely the part of the environment that is most in line with the priorities of the Freedom Party.

We would see how to transform projects, the focus of what we need to develop, how we should develop, how the roads and streets should look. To base it on the principles of sustainable mobility, the preparation of a sustainable mobility plan, which is only now gaining momentum in Lithuania. In principle, it is necessary to transform the approach on how we develop transport infrastructure in Lithuania ”, said the interlocutor to the future plans, if they are approved.
In fact, that loophole will catch up with how those funds were distributed and will need to be addressed.
During the tenure of outgoing Minister Jaroslav Narkevičius, a delegate to the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Union of Christian Families of the Lithuanian Polish Election Campaign, the Ministry was associated with several scandals that raised doubts about the transparency of money distribution in streets and highways.
All of this undermined confidence in the ministry. What does K. Adomaitis plan to do for a better image of the ministry?
“Open data is one of the axes, since they should be changed. In fact, that gap will catch up with how those funds were distributed and will need to be addressed. Openness, clarity, transparency, how to choose priorities, I think it will be a key issue ”, emphasized K. Adomaitis.
According to him, it will be clearly communicated why some gravel roads are paved and others are not.
“From now on, work will begin in this area,” said the candidate.
K. Adomaitis, 37, graduated from the Riga Graduate School of Economics with a degree in Business Administration and Economics, and later from Vilnius University with a degree in comparative psychology and politics.
He himself notes that he has been a professor of project leadership and has also created and developed his own business for several years.
Before becoming a member of the Seimas, he was an analyst in urban statistics and economics at an international company for nine years.
With his wife Rūtene, K. Adomaitis raises two sons and a daughter.
