Organizers have announced that The Roop, OG Version, Virgis Stakėnas with Kean Blunt, Sisters On Wire and others will appear at the MAMA 2020 anniversary event. Tonight 16 prestigious statuettes will be delivered. A total of 122 statuettes have already been awarded at the Lithuanian MAMA Music Awards. The record holders, the now-defunct duo Leon Somov & Jazzu, have won 11 statuettes in their careers. Later, Justė Arlauskaitė-Jazzu won 6 more solo awards.

Vidas Bareikis, the host of the event, who won the first statuette for Best Concert Artist, thanked Indre Stonkuvienė from the stage, his three children: his son Adas and Indra’s descendant Francis with Cecilia, and their parents.

Others took the stage to collect the award label, The Roop, which won the Breakthrough of the Year category. The band said it was their first award after a 10-year music career. Solo Ensemble, which received the award for Best Alternative Group. The band admitted to winning the same statuette 2 years ago. These are so far the only musicians who have not only thanked their loved ones for tonight’s support, but have also sent a social message about the equality of all people, regardless of gender, orientation or attitudes.

“I am not going to lie, I have imagined this image when I am receiving an award, the feeling is similar – very good, but with a lot of responsibility,” said Jonas Nainys-Jovani, who was awarded Best Electronic Music Performer.

Solo Ensemble also won the Best Video Clip category for the song “Dancing.” The artists thanked all the families who contributed to the birth of the video.

The special LATGA award went to the famous and productive composer Vytautas Bikas, whose works are performed by many famous Lithuanian artists and groups.
