The head coach of the Lithuanian women’s basketball team has announced the candidate list for the national team, which will be at Druskininkai from July 27 to August 9. There are even 20 basketball players on the list, who will combine fitness training with work on the basketball court during camp.
Triples are released this season
“After such an extraordinary situation that we had this season, we needed a basketball team and youth teams to play sports.” The idea came up to invite the most promising basketball players from each youth team to the nearby women’s team camp.
We will try to include them also in the training of the main team. I think that individual work will also be carried out in groups, with the idea that in the future, in a few years, one or the other player could join the main women’s team.
“During camp, we will improve tactics and fitness as well as the interrelationships. The season ended early and we have a unique opportunity to close and work well at Druskininkai.
All the players emphasized that this is a very good idea, no one gave up and they came a bit smart, doing their homework so we can move on during camp, “said the head of the Lithuanian women’s basketball team. Coach Mantas Šernius.
The national team will train in the Druskininkai Sports Center hall, and the national team strategist emphasized that she is eager and invites women’s basketball coaches to attend training, observe them and discuss the process of exercise and women’s basketball.
“I invite all the coaches to the camp, we will be able to communicate, debate and express our opinion. I think we will have a good camp,” said Šernius.
