“Vilnius is growing and we are growing together. AISV plans a development that fulfills the school’s fundamental values and commitments to its students: providing the best international education, fostering community and the well-being of all members of the community. We feel that We have grown the physical spaces, so to continue ensuring the best quality of education, we are ready for a new stage of activity, another unit of the school.

We chose a location close to our current building. Primary and secondary school classes will remain on Subačiaus Street, and children from primary and secondary schools will move to new ‘green’ facilities near Pavilniai Park, ”says Stephane Ruz, director of the international school.

According to him, AISV will continue to be a school that will not only surround children with a caring environment, but also provide them with a quality international education: students who graduate from this school receive an American graduation diploma and have the opportunity to receive an international baccalaureate. Diploma (IB).

The United States Ambassador to Lithuania, Robert S. Gilchrist, is pleased to see the growth of the International American School in Vilnius: from the inception of AISV in 1993, when the first 60 students attended the school, to today, 300 students of all the world. “The school continues to grow, that is why we are responsible for its continuous improvement, ensuring a qualified education and preparing children for the lives of the citizens of the world,” says the ambassador.

According to the mayor of the capital, Remigijus Šimašius, Vilnius is a rapidly growing city, so the development of schools is important.

Unique location of the new school

The concept and architecture of the new school building is being developed by the creative team of the Format A1 architecture studio, led by architect Linas Naujokaitis. According to him, the chosen architectural concept of the school was determined by many external and internal factors.

According to the architect, the object was designed in an exclusive place in the city: at the entrances to the historic center of Vilnius – the old town – and on the territory of the Pavilniai Regional Park. L. Naujokaitis points out that the provisions of the park and the management plan require a special sensitivity and a delicate relationship with the environment. Another important external aspect is the S. Batoro street, arrangement of its connections with the school object, noise and pollution prevention.

“In the context of the last decades, the trends in the creation of educational institutions in Lithuania have not been revealed, because very few new schools are being built. The typical educational institutions built during the Soviet era predominate. The emergence of a new school in Vilnius, reflecting the current era and new traditions of the democratic world, is a unique event in Vilnius ”, says L. Naujokaitis.

Building for future generations

According to Lukas Laukaitis, director of the construction company UAB Conresta, projects like this are designed and built for future generations. According to L. Laukaitis, they create exceptional value not only for the city, but also for the entire state.

“Each object under construction is unique and exclusive; this school is no exception. We believe that the new AISV school will become a unique place for children to get to know the world and different cultures. We have no doubt that this school will bring more than one professional that everyone will learn from.

Together with our team of specialists, we thank you for your trust and we are sure that we will implement the project while maintaining the highest quality standards. By building this school, we are building something more than an object or a building: we are creating opportunity and prosperity for future generations, ”says L. Laukaitis.

“This is a building that children will visit every day and spend most of the day in it, so we will try to implement the project as best we can to make it safe and comfortable for the students. We will work so that everyone wants to return to this building every day. This is a great responsibility of our company and the entire project team for future generations, ”says E. Prižginas.
