The works of the competition participants were evaluated by a commission made up of architects and experts: Tadas Balčiūnas, Raimondas Palubeckis, Saulius Pamerneckis, Mindaugas Pakalnis, the chief architect of Vilnius, and Ugnius Latvis, the developer’s representative.
According to Ugnius Latvis, CEO of UAB Baltic Asset Management, which is developing the project, the commission had a difficult task in selecting the winner, because the works of all the architects seemed to fit perfectly in this place in Naujamiestis.
“We invited three architectural firms to a competition to select an architectural idea and a vision for a future project. Careful work is still needed to implement the ideas expressed by the commission and create a project that better reflects the typical architectural expression of Naujamiestis, ”says Ugnius Latvys.

According to Vytautas Augustinavičius, director of the architecture studio 2 Bricks, which won the competition, developing projects in Vilnius Naujamiestis is not only a responsible process, but also a process that requires a lot of creative efforts.

The composition of the facades is created from large rhythmic windows corresponding to the industrial scale of Naujamiestis. In some places, the floors of the raised ceiling typical of the territory are installed. The first floors along the street are visually connected, which gives the neighborhood elegance, ”says Vytautas Augustinavičius.
All architecture studios that participated in the competition received the same monetary reward and a design contract was signed with the winner.
