It turned out why Prince Philip, 99, was in the hospital: his son was talking about health.

The report says Felipe, 99, the wife of Queen Elizabeth II, “feels comfortable, his treatment is paying off,” but should stay in hospital for a few more days.

Prince Philip fell ill a week ago and, as House officials said, he was admitted to King Edward VII’s private hospital in London as a precaution. The court said he should remain in the hospital this week so that doctors could monitor him while he rested.

Philip’s youngest son, Prince Edward, told Sky News that his father was now feeling “much better.”

According to Edward, Philip is “looking forward to getting out, which is a very positive thing, so we keep our fists clenched.”

Philip’s illness is not believed to be related to COVID-19. He and a 94-year-old queen were vaccinated with the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in early January.

Philip, who resigned in 2017, now rarely appears in public. During the quarantine currently in effect in England, Philip and the Queen live in Windsor Castle, west of London.

Philip and Elizabeth were married in 1947 at Westminster Abbey in London and five years later Elizabeth became queen. The Duke of Edinburgh has been the oldest “monarch” or spouse of monarchs in the country’s history.
