It provided the government with 10 pandemic checkpoints and was criticized: “How are you more expert than other people?”

According to the STI, the essence of these points in the pandemic management plan is: “Start with a blank page, leaving the necessary tools unambiguously.”

10-Point ITS: Pandemic Management Plan

Member of the Institute of Health Law, pharmacologist dr. Rimas Jankūnas noted that the 10-point plan includes “ten things that STI does not question.”

“In principle, we are questioning absolutely everything except those ten points, which are also clear to the Government. <...> More points could arise in a discussion with those who think differently and after analyzing the data that we would like to obtain. The list could be expanded, but only after discussions and disputes, “he told the news portal tv3.lt.

Dropped a list of items

Jurgita Sejonienė, a member of the Union of the Homeland-Christian Democrats of Lithuania and a member of the Seimas Health Affairs Committee, responded to these proposals.

Savo Facebook In his account, he wrote: “Here’s the” level “. I can’t be surprised.”

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė and data scientist Vaidotas Zemlys-Balevičius contributed to the criticism of STI.

Prime Minister responded to STI proposals

“For all the good, for all the bad. As for the question of rational vaccination, it may be necessary to make such an administrative decision, ask the postmen and nurses to approach the elderly and talk with enlightened children . Still, people from the institute. Perhaps they believe more than doctors “, – after the recording of J. Sejonienė, the Prime Minister criticized the STI proposals.

“Great deals. Find 10 differences from what the LRV is doing now,” V. Zemlys-Balevičius also mockingly commented.

Jankūnas Rhymes

Jankūnas: “Measures do more harm than good”

The news portal tv3.lt contacted one of the STI members, R. Jankūnas, and asked them to comment on the plan.

According to him, the list is necessary because “what is being done now (to control a pandemic – aut. last.), it is done incorrectly and this is demonstrated by data from the European Center for Disease Control, according to which Lithuania is the worst in the European Union ”.

“Consequently, we are doing very badly and, in the opinion of our institute, the measures do more harm than good, they harm the Lithuanian population more than the virus itself, so they must be fundamentally reviewed and modified,” he said. said.

The current measures, he said, are also an obstacle to people’s awareness, since “people are not being told the truth to the fullest, they are trying to become the most comfortable.”

“There is a message: without vaccination, you will not receive sickness benefits. This may encourage them to just go to work.” If we want to detain them at home, we must do two things: evaluate people who have symptoms immediately, “he said.

Speaking of encouraging people, he said that in order for people to want to sit at home after experiencing symptoms, they must “ask, say, encourage, install thermometers” or encourage them in some other way.

“You felt the symptoms: sitting at home. And if the test is successful and the result is positive, the sickness benefit should be 100%. Without any discussion, so that there is no incentive to go to work when I get sick”, R. Jankūnas said.

Jurgita Sejonienė

Sejonienė: “This is nonsense”

According to J. Sejonienė, the control points of the pandemic that presents STIs are very manipulative, since most of them are basic rules of infection control, which were not negative in any country in the world.

“The messages communicated by the WHO and all the other international organizations for the prevention and control of diseases establish the basic principles. There are no suggestions for specific recommendations on what the government should do at this time, such as vaccinate more elderly people or what to do to increase public confidence in the government. I see it as a very profane or very manipulative way, “he said.

Article “Appropriate management solutions in hospitals with rational use of funds and additional bedding “, he said, is incomprehensible.

“I have no doubt that it would be incomprehensible to anyone providing health care or organizing pandemic management measures. The message is: cry, you need more beds. It’s silly, it’s unethical, it’s disrespectful to people. That’s it. what they do to make society even more conflictual, although they themselves argue that less resistance is needed. <...> I don’t understand what makes them more expert than other people, ”asked J. Sejonienė.

She also drew attention to STI’s communication on social media: “I myself have experienced both sarcasm and outright bullying. “They have political aspirations themselves or they exploit them for political ambitions,” he said.

Agnė Širinskienė

Širinskienė: current measures have led to a “deplorable situation”

Agnė Širinskienė, a member of the Lithuanian Green and Farmers Union (LVŽS) faction, agrees with the STI statements and, like R. Jankūnas, says that the current pandemic management strategy is ineffective.

According to the policy, the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) have been forgotten when addressing the issues of the pandemic, which, according to her, are basically reminiscent of the institute.

“What has been done with passport opportunities where people have been able to communicate without masks, when only children who have not been vaccinated are tested in schools as if they cannot be vaccinated as carriers, all these measures, I think, have led to the sorry situation in which we find ourselves now. It is clear that these measures have had the opposite effect to the expected ”, he said.

Criticizes the Government, but cannot agree with all the points of the CTI

A. Širinskienė does not agree with all the points indicated in the STI. According to her, from what the World Health Organization (WHO) says, indoor masks never really mix.

“Especially, it is difficult to assess whether the room is well ventilated or not. It can often be the same in an office and different in the hallway. There are basic hygiene requirements that have been overlooked. We see the same in the Seimas, when they appear the regulations, when you have to wear a mask during the session, but when you go out into the hall, you cannot wear a mask, ”said A. Širinskienė.

The STI also indicated that additional beds should be purchased once the proper management decisions have been made in the hospitals using the funds rationally.

Politician A. Širinskienė said that all flows should be evaluated more broadly, “are we really lacking those beds?”

Wearing a mask (photo BENU)

Masks are said to have become a means of obedience, not security.

On Wednesday, Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys mentioned the possibility of introducing the mandatory use of masks in venues and restricting large events indoors.

“Maybe in theaters, not to recommend, but to say that masks are mandatory. Perhaps to introduce an additional number of flows and venues for events of a certain number of people, ”said A. Dulkys.

The aforementioned list states that the STI states that masks are suitable “only in cases where large numbers of people congregate in confined spaces, especially if there is little ventilation.” Therefore, according to R. Jankūnas, the requirement to wear masks in the absence of a crowd, for example in a half-empty store, may seem frivolous to people.

“There has never been a mockery of medical masks like this now. When the mask, which is designed for one time, several hours, is worn all day, the week, the months. The mask became not a means of protection against the virus, but in a means of obedience. We believe that they should be recommended in clearly defined cases, “he said.

According to the STI member, it is very important to talk about ventilation, for which the Government supposedly did nothing at the state level.

“Before our institute, I said in January: let whoever wants to open when they want, but the condition must be – ventilation openings. Sure, it’s expensive, but it’s a lot cheaper than stopping the economy.

Now we are wasting money on asymptomatic tests, and what would bring long-term benefits is not what we are doing. When testing outbreaks, those with symptoms that need immediate evaluation are waiting in line for an unacceptably long time. Ventilation would work equally against any strain of COVID, strain of influenza, ”said R. Jankūnas.

In a previously published article, the tv3.lt news portal spoke with healthcare professionals, who presented their assessment of STI ideas and a publicly announced statement. You can read them in the article: Evaluated the ideas of the new group of experts: both the title and the ideas and competencies are questionable.
