“We are talking about 20 train cars, so many personal protective equipment have not reached our doctors,” the minister compared.

In response to the situation, SAM, he said, turned to law enforcement.

“Responding to the situation, together with the team from the Health Emergencies Center, we requested the Attorney General’s Office, requesting to initiate procedural actions with the aim of knowing the reasons for this deficiency and identifying the culprits.”

The Chancellor of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Jurgita Grebenkovienė, who participated in the press conference, stated that the presentation of security measures to Lithuania was organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

In accordance with the lists presented by the personal health institutions and the indicated amounts of protection measures, this ministry was instructed to distribute the measures received to the institutions, and the institutions must present certificates of acceptance-transfer of the goods received to the SAM Center. for Health Emergencies.

According to these acts, according to J.Grebenkovienė, the discrepancy of the quantity of goods with the quantity of goods specified in the contract and invoices was noted.

The Health Emergencies Center, he said, has launched an investigation into the matter.

“The assessment identified what measures and quantities were missing, but unfortunately the reasons could not be identified,” he said.

When a shortage of branded products was noted, a claim was filed with the Chinese supplier, said Ingrida Andrulytė, chief specialist of the Health Emergencies Center Management Division, who led the investigation.

According to her, the supplier was obliged to fulfill all the obligations assumed.

However, the Chinese company stated that it had fulfilled the terms of the contract.

“In January of this year, the supplier informed the Sanitary Emergency Center that all the merchandise had been delivered. He also submitted all invoices, packing lists and export declaration forms from Chinese customs, ”commented I. Anddrulytė.

According to her, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which organized the transport of goods, and the Customs Department were also contacted with the authorities to present the delivery documents.

Unable to determine where this shortage of goods occurred, it was decided to contact the Attorney General’s Office.
