According to ISM Rector dr. According to Dalius Misiūnas, the main criteria for choosing the university facilities were location and functionality: “We were looking for a space where students and academics were surrounded by a business community that was open and visible to the public, and the building itself was designed. It was also important for us to be close to the main leisure and cultural spots. The former premises of the Vilnius Central Post Office met local criteria: it is no longer possible to be in the center, the post office has always been the starting point of the city.

“We appreciate the partnership with ISM and the decision of this university to settle in a building in the center of Vilnius. There will be comfortable and functional spaces for students and teachers that meet the standards of a modern educational institution. It is also especially important that the building’s new function ensures that it is open to the public in the future, ”says Rytis Zaloga, manager of Lords LB Baltic Fund IV.

The building, built in the 19th century and rebuilt in 1969 according to the project of Algimantas and Vytautas Nasvyčiai and adapted to the post office, will maintain its knowledge transfer function: “For our academic community, these former facilities of the Central Office of Post offices are a symbol of the place. It is a building that has housed key information flows for a long time, the most important knowledge. We are delighted to be able to preserve the function of the building, which has existed for more than fifty years. We hope to continue to be an important source of knowledge and an important attraction to society, “said Dr. Dalius Misiūnas, Rector of ISM University.
