According to Mykolas Majauskas, chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance, the payment of wages in cash creates conditions to exploit employees, evade taxes and spread the shadow.

He promised that small businesses will be compensated for the purchase of payment machines so that people can pay by card at any point of sale.

“We need to provide remote electronic payment machines for small businesses.” We have to do it, it is the responsibility of the state, and here, in my opinion, we will have to put our hands in our pockets and ensure compensation to small businesses, “he promised.

Mindaugas Lingė, head of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee, is convinced that employees should pay insurance wages in cash to be more protected.

You doubt that receiving non-cash wages will cause settlement problems. The head of the commission recalled that benefits and pensions are already being entered into people’s accounts.

“Let’s see how many people across Lithuania are currently receiving various social transfer benefits. The number of recipients of child money exceeds 500 thousand, the salaries of public sector employees, whose salaries exceed 400 thousand, the job search subsidy, which was paid during the peak in December last year, when received the most recipients, reached more than 250 thousand. accounts, there were about 85 thousand beneficiaries of unemployment insurance benefits. Even our elderly, the vast majority, are already receiving pensions on cards, ”said M. Lingė.

Meanwhile, the peasant Valius Ąžuolas predicted that forcing people to pay their wages only on the bill would create a shadow, because there would be nowhere to withdraw money.

“There is no ATM network law.” People will go back into the shadows and take envelopes, because otherwise we will not be able to withdraw money, “he said.

Darbietė Ieva Kačinskaitė-Urbonienė argued that the deadline for payment of insurance salaries, allowances and business travel allowances in cash is too fast. “Entrepreneurs will not be sufficiently prepared for its implementation. In this way, we will have more misunderstandings and various complaints from which we will benefit,” said the parliamentarian.
