Tehran agrees to pay compensation to Ukraine by Iranian forces in a mistake by dropping a Ukrainian passenger plane, said Abbas Mousavi, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Lithuania.

Iran has agreed to pay compensation for the plane, but it will take time to implement the problem, as various technical and legal aspects cited the diplomat as the state news agency IRNA.

Mousavi paid attention to the fact that many of the liner passengers were Iranian citizens.

On Thursday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced that bilateral talks on compensation had started in Kiev.

For a long time we have tried to start the negotiation process. I hope things have finally moved, he said in a video address posted on Facebook.

Mr. Kuleba said the process would not be easy, but we were working on the result to bring justice.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will do everything possible to maximize compensation. This will at least reduce the close pain they have been living in for more than half a year. We will achieve justice no matter how much time and effort is required, the minister said.

On January 8, two missiles shot down a Ukrainian International Airlines (MAU) Boeing 737-800 plane flying to Kiev and just took off from Tehran’s main airport.

The Republic of Lithuania initially blamed the plane crash for the technical problems, but a few days later admitted that its forces had dropped a Ukrainian plane supporting the takeoff missile due to human error. During the disaster, all ocean liners flew 176 mons.
