Residents of the Baltic States, if they have not left Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia in the last 14 days, can travel to these countries and will not have to isolate themselves for 14 days. However, the document verification procedures will remain in place.

Baltic citizens returning from other foreign countries will continue to be obliged to isolate themselves for two weeks, which they will be able to do in their home countries.

On Friday, Minister Linas Linkevičius will sign a memorandum of understanding with Latvian and Estonian foreign ministers in Riga on the lifting of travel restrictions between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The memorandum will cover the lifting of restrictions on road, rail, air and sea transport, the Foreign Ministry said.

According to her, this is the first example of cooperation between countries across the European Union.

In the future, the inclusion of Poland and Finland in the common movement area is being considered.

Currently, residents of Lithuania and Poland can travel freely if they have business, study and work affairs.
