These works will be paid for by the insurance company Gjensidige, which has insured the manege, announces the municipality of Vilnius.

“Neither the municipality nor the school that owns the manege will have an economic burden on the dome, since the damages will be covered by insurance. The first insurance benefits are already on the way, so we will start handling them soon.

The only loss to the school and the sports community is time lost training on the soccer field. However, after assembling and removing the dome membrane, it will be possible to renew them, ”said Vilnius Deputy Mayor Valdas Benkunskas.

After all the snow was melted and the current condition of the dome was inspected, the insurance company provided financing for the dismantling of the dome, the transportation of its parts, and the identification of defects.

In the first stage of maintenance of the dome, the works will require a little more than 90 thousand. VAT included, it is indicated in the municipal notification.

During the dismantling of existing structures, it is planned to dismantle the dome membrane in parts and transfer the remaining equipment (doors, gates, lighting elements and other inventory) for storage. The dismantling of the cupola was entrusted to the private limited company Sversa. However, representatives of the Polish dome manufacturer Plastbud Sport will also participate and supervise the selection of constructions.

Disassembly work is scheduled to begin after Easter. According to preliminary estimates, the job should take 4-5 days.

In the second stage, the insurance company will assess the losses due to the repair of the dome: it is planned to assess the production costs of the damaged dome parts, their transportation to Vilnius, the scope of the equipment installation work and the scope of other possible inventories. damage. Losses will be assessed after inspecting the dome for defects and receiving an offer from the dome manufacturer.

The deputy mayor assures that while the dome is maintained, Pilaitė will not be left without a stadium. According to him, after removing the dome and ensuring that no significant damage has been done to the artificial surface and other equipment, the site will be allowed to be used again.

It is planned to re-cover the stadium only when the weather cools down again, and during the warm season the stadium will be suitable for training and without a curtain, the deputy mayor said.
