Ingrida Šimonytė does not promise quarantine releases in the near future – not much room for that

The situation is unsatisfactory but stable

According to the Prime Minister, the current situation in the country due to COVID-19 is unsatisfactory, but stable: the number of cases is very similar, the tension in hospitals in the Vilnius region still remains, although slightly lower than what it was a few weeks ago.

“Consequently, there is not much room for some special releases. The place may appear for some technical changes or some other changes, possibly smaller, but I really don’t want to guess ahead of time,” I. Šimonytė was in no hurry to give hope before weather.

Speaking about vaccination, the Prime Minister said that in the future the dynamics are likely to be similar to other countries: to some extent, growth will be fast and then it will slow down.

“But I hope it continues, which means that people will see the value of vaccination and that value is very clear: the life saved is not only for the person himself, but also for his loved ones. It is also a benefit for society. Although it may be more difficult to assess yourself, it is not difficult to assess the benefits for yourself and your loved ones.

I believe that the quarantine requirements, the certificate of ability to travel to other countries, will also be one of the incentives for those who doubt or believe that their risk is not so high as to be an additional incentive to opt for vaccination simply because there is no need. for periodic tests or a document that allows you to feel more free in the sun, ”said I. Šimonytė.

The prime minister said she could not say why no decisions have been made so far about vaccinating young people with AstraZeneca, as it falls to the health minister.

And because of the possibility of vaccinating people who received one dose of this vaccine with the second vaccine with another vaccine, I. Šimonytė said he had not heard the scientists’ assessment that such a solution would be possible. “But again it is the prerogative of the experts to assess whether such things can be done,” he said.

The mutation will not affect the chances of the passport.

According to the Prime Minister, the risk of strains is assessed by daily monitoring of the epidemiological situation, for which sequential studies are carried out. However, the possibility of issuing a passport should not be affected.

“Currently, the British mutation is absolutely prevalent in Lithuania, although we have been trying to protect ourselves for some time. Of course, we have succeeded, but it is clear that without a closed world, no democracy could do it all the time. Initially, this mutation It spread in the Vilnius region, now it is the main one in other regions.

Other strains are found, there is usually no way to have a choice, because the virus is such that it constantly mutates to survive. We assess the whole situation every day, but I would not directly associate it with the passport of opportunities. Unless such a situation arises that due to some mutation, the epidemiological situation in general becomes so bad that these ideas cannot be implemented in practice, ”said I. Šimonytė.

Requiring members of a single household to communicate with the Prime Minister still seems significant.

“There is a difference in the conditions that you can meet with other homes, such as the cinema. You have to sit with a mask, at a certain distance from each other, you cannot eat while watching the movies, etc. – when asked why it is possible to meet several households at the cinema and not at home, said I. Šimonytė. – It is not exactly the same that we can equate that if we can be in a cinema with another home, we can also be in a home with another home.

How you adhere to home security requirements, no one can really assess you and you cannot assess you. So far this restriction remains, but I’m not saying it will be the case all the time. “
