Information on compulsory health insurance – on the new website

The new website is based on the websites of the State Health Insurance Fund under the Ministry of Health (VLK) and five Territorial Health Insurance Funds (TLK) from Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys. From now on, all the unified information on the activities of the health insurance funds is presented on one website.

“We strive to make the new website not only informative, innovative, convenient, but also save time, help rational cooperation between patients, partners and specialists of health insurance funds,” says the director of VLK, Gintaras Kacevičius.

According to him, the recent significant increase in public interest in medical and health issues is fully justified. Mandatory health insurance is an integral part of these topics.

“We hope that this new health insurance funds website will help you better understand the need and benefits of health insurance for each inhabitant, will advise you where to look for answers to questions related to health insurance,” says G. Kacevičius.

Basic information about mandatory health insurance, services and rates

The website www.ligoniukasa.lrv.lt provides detailed information about the compulsory health insurance, the activities of the health insurance funds throughout Lithuania, the health care services provided by the medical institutions, their fees, waiting lists and many other useful things. When creating a website, all the information is updated, organized and presented so that the user can easily find what interests him.

The new health insurance website complies with current information technology requirements. It offers users every opportunity to be interactive, comfortable to use e. services, to express opinions and wishes to specified contacts.

All online health insurance services can now be conveniently found on the site in one place: the opportunity to check if you are covered by compulsory health insurance, find out how much treatment and medicines cost, apply for a European Health Insurance Card (TSE ) or an electronic replacement certificate. It is also possible to check the queues in medical institutions, view lists of orthopedic companies and orthopedic device catalogs, check your place on the waiting lists for joint endoprostheses, orthotics and dental prostheses. One of the innovations is an interactive overview list of personal health institutions in Lithuania, where patients can receive information based on the type of service provided, working hours and location.

The new website of the sickness insurance funds complies with the description of the General Requirements for the Websites of Institutions and State and Municipal Bodies. It establishes that all these institutions and bodies, including the Government Office, the institutions that are accountable to the Government, the ministries and the institutions subordinate to them, must publish information on the “My Government” portal. In addition, patient organizations, partners, associations and medical institutions were consulted during the development of the new website for the health insurance funds www.ligoniukasa.lrv.lt.

Currently, some 90 state institutions have joined the My Government portal in Lithuania.
