Last week, the Notification Service of the Department of Environmental Protection received 333 notifications of possible infractions. Of the 31 complaints received outside working hours, 18 were confirmed, reports the AAD.

Over the weekend, officers of the Immunity Service of the Department of Environmental Protection and the Vilnius District Board of the Vilnius Board, while participating in a joint raid with officers of the Lithuanian Highway Police Service, stopped a vehicle all-terrain vehicle and a snowmobile.

The rules for riding ATVs and snowmobiles are governed by the Road Traffic Regulations: ATVs and snowmobiles can be driven on the same roads as other motorized vehicles. This means that driving off-road and on the natural forest floor is prohibited.

Last week, Notification Service personnel were notified 12 times of fishing violations, 28 times of hunting violations: 31 times of waste incineration, 18 times of improper waste management, 12 sewage cases, 7 pollution cases of water, 8 cases of violations of coastal protection zones, illegal crossings – 12, air pollution – 15, other violations and consultations – 20.

Wild animals that were involved in car accidents were reported 121 times in the past week (there were 97 such reports in the previous week), and they were reported 48 times for other events involving animals.

In response to reports of possible violations, environmental officials verified the information outside of business hours 31 times, 18 of which were confirmed.

Fishing violations were reported 4 times (confirmed), hunting violations were reported 11 times (9 confirmed). Waste incineration applied 4 times (1 confirmed), sewage – 1 (not confirmed), water pollution – 3 (confirmed), water strip violations – 2 (1 confirmed), waste management – 1 (no confirmed), other violations – 1 (not confirmed)).
