The Regional Basketball League (TOPsport-RKL) played 10 games over the weekend. “Kretinga” (7-1) achieved two great victories: the students of Arimantas Mikaločius returned to the battalions of the league after 3 weeks of quarantine 76:58 (22:20, 18:19, 17: 9, 19:10) broke Vilnius “Rivilė” (9-3) and left 105: 98 (32:25, 25:32, 26:20, 22:21) turned out to be an advantage over the basketball players of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU, 6-5).
Great victories after quarantine. In the match between “Kretinga” and “Rivilė”, after 2 halves, the hosts went ahead with a minimum difference of 40:39, who after the great break increased their speed even more and won the third quarter 17: 9. In the Last leg of the match, Kretinga did not let go of the defense and won the quarter at 19:10.

“All these 3 weeks they hit us hard from the rhythm. A big thank you to the coach who believed in us and thanked us for the victory over the leaders today. At first, we “pitched” (rivals, – author’s note). During the minute of rest, the technician ordered him to calm down and enter. The players got up from the bench and added energy, we stabilized the game. After two times, we settled in. During the long break, the captain gave some motivation and we did our game. We “hold on” very well with the defense of the squad. As we know how to use our room, we prepared the defense of the field and in the second half of the match we defended very well and lost some points, ”said Karolis Opulskis, the light edge of Kretinga.
“We started the game with a lot of energy. We attacked well, we started, we knew that the opponent is at the top of the tournament table and in defense they are usually” on the field. “At first they may not have been prepared for our quick attack, but then we got physical. It was probably our biggest pot. Opponents hit well, stretched our defenses. Later we equalized the result, and from the third quarter there was a big hole again, we couldn’t attack at all. defenders were excellent team leaders (in defense, – author’s note), so the big people were in a good position. We knew the corridor was small and there would be a lot of defense from the field, but we got physicality, to which we did not respond ”Admitted Rivil basketball player R Rastenis, who played almost 35 minutes.

Sports form – nothing good, the virus rages, it does not come out to training normally, few games. In the next game we will meet group leader “Jurbarkas”, who has not lost yet and is showing a good game. We will play at home, we will try to win, “said Radviliškis manager Lukas Pipiras.
“We are a little upset because it was a really good and calm fight. In the end, we didn’t keep up with the physique and pace they offered. They had a slightly higher turnover and, I think, that was the reason for their victory, ”said Pakruojis club coach Aurimas Andrušaitis.
