In the new building, visitors will find a large aquatic entertainment area with two 25 m long swimming lanes, a 30-seat hot tub, a 7 m high lane and an archway that allows you to enjoy the curtain. of falling water and 3D views. There is a shallow paddling pool especially for younger visitors.

In the sauna area, guests will find three saunas: Finnish, Russian and steam. Special loungers are provided for a peaceful rest and guests can cool off in the juice bar. For the comfort of the people, a cozy waiting room and changing rooms have been established. In total, the pool will be able to entertain about 120 people at a time, according to a municipal report.

The mayor of the Tauragė district municipality, Dovydas Kaminskas, was glad that the long-awaited day of the population dawned: more important infrastructure for leisure appeared in the city, so that people who want to relax or enjoy water entertainment already they will not be forced to go to neighboring municipalities.

“This is a historic day: starting today, the neighbors have a space where they can have fun, spend their free time, recover or develop swimming. The people of Tauragiškės always wanted to have a swimming pool in their city so as not to have to go to those in Šilalė, Klaipėda or Kaunas. Nowadays, the desire of people to have all services as close to home as possible is especially evident. I hope that with the opening of the complex, we have taken another step towards making living in Taurage even more comfortable and fun, and for those considering returning to their homeland, even more incentives to make a favorable decision. In addition, additional jobs were created, ”said D. Kaminskas.

The construction of the pool lasted less than 3 years, and the total value of the construction amounted to 2,350,442 euros. All the funds necessary for the construction of the entertainment and recreation area were allocated by the Municipality of the Taurag District, and the Tauragė Sports Center was appointed as administrator for a period of 15 years.

There will be a variety of activities throughout the day.

The Taurage basin will be adapted to the needs of the general public, which is why it is expected to become a new attraction in the city.

“After conducting a market analysis, visiting other swimming pools installed in Lithuania and learning about the needs of the population, we decided that a leisure area is needed in Taurage, focused on families, both parents with children and grandparents with grandchildren. We hope that the new pool will become one of the most visited places in the city, providing an opportunity to relax and take care of their health and organize swimming lessons for the students of the district, ”said M. Petraitis.

Residents are invited to participate in special activities at the leisure and entertainment complex. Group and individual swimming lessons will be taught here for children and adults. All second grade students will be taught to swim for free. This is expected to help develop children’s swimming skills and help prevent disasters in the future – World Health Organization data shows that infant and youth mortality rates in Lithuania are still among the highest of Europe.

Active leisure enthusiasts are offered to participate in water aerobics and for seniors – health classes. Newborns are invited to visit the baby carriage, and those with a medical certificate are invited to correct the faulty posture.

People with disabilities and people with reduced mobility have not been forgotten when designing the pool: a specially equipped lift will work for the comfort of these people.

According to M. Petraitis, when setting prices for the pool visit, efforts were made to make pool services available to as many city residents and guests as possible. Prices for one-time visits to the pool and sauna area range from € 3 to € 9 for adults, € 2 to € 7 for schoolchildren, the elderly and the disabled, and € 1 to € 5 for children between 4 and 6 years old.

“It is a non-profit institution, so when calculating prices for visits, we sought to ensure that the funds raised were sufficient to cover staff salaries, current expenses, or future work needed. Compared to the prices of the swimming pools in the surrounding districts, the ticket prices in Tauragė are competitive, ”said the director of the Taurag Ta district municipal administration.

According to the mayor of the Tauragė district municipality, D. Kaminskas, the new basin is a rational project. It is expected to be maintained with the funds raised and no grants will be required.
