In the last day, 3,003 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the country, and 75 people infected by coronavirus have died.

The total number of people infected with coronavirus in the country has risen to 107,319 since the epidemic began in March, and 2,792 people have died, authorities said.

According to the Ministry of Health, the most recent victims were people between 40 and 93 years old. Eight of them were directly attributed to coronavirus infection, and the other 67 also had comorbidities.

The day before, 58 deaths of COVID-19 patients and 2,236 new infections were recorded in Poland. The previous maximum number of new COVID-19 cases detected in one day was registered last Saturday, when the disease was confirmed in 2,367 patients.

As of Tuesday morning, 4,000 patients with coronavirus infection were still being treated at the country’s medical facilities, 283 of whom required artificial lung ventilation.

A total of 75,346 people, including 1,188, have recovered from COVID-19 in Poland to date, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Polish health minister warned on Tuesday that the rapidly increasing number of infections in the country would lead to “zero tolerance” for people who violate sanitation rules and that violators would be “severely punished.”
