In Poland, a record incidence of COVID-19 was recorded for the second day in a row

According to the Ministry of Health, coronavirus infection was confirmed by COVID-19 tests in 27,143 people and 367 previously infected patients died daily.

24,692 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported on Wednesday. In addition, that day there was a record mortality, with a daily pandemic that claimed 373 lives.

On Tuesday 19,364 new cases of infection and the death of 227 patients were reported.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 466,679 people have been tested for coronavirus infection in the country, of which 6,842 have died, authorities said.

The Polish Ministry of Health reported on Twitter that among the latest COVID-19 victims, 69 deaths were directly related to complications from coronavirus infection and another 298 patients also had comorbidities.

Of the most recent cases, 3,888 were detected in the Western Voivodeship of Greater Poland, the largest city of which is Poznan. Another 3,850 COVID-19 cases were detected in the South Silesian Voivodeship and 2,932 were confirmed in the Central Mazovian Voivodeship, which includes the capital Warsaw.

As of Thursday morning, 19,114 coronavirus-infected patients were treated in the country’s hospitals, of which 1,615 required artificial lung ventilation.

To date, 177,681 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the country, the Health Ministry said.
