In Poland, a new record of morbidity due to COVID-19

The day before, a record mortality of COVID-19 patients was confirmed in Poland, and the epidemic claimed 445 lives in one day.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases per day in the country exceeds 27,000 for the third consecutive day.

The Polish Ministry of Health said on Twitter that among the latest victims of COVID-19, the death of 49 people was directly related to complications from the coronavirus infection, and another 300 patients also had comorbidities.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 521,640 people have been tested for coronavirus infection in the country, of which 7,636 have died, authorities said.

Of the most recent infections, the largest number (4,290) was detected in the southern Silesian Voivodeship. In the Central Mazovian Voivodeship, which includes the capital Warsaw, 2,998 cases of infection have been confirmed. In the Western Voivodeship of Greater Poland, whose largest city is Poznan, 2,451 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.

On Friday morning, 20,249 coronavirus-infected patients were treated in hospitals in the country, of which 1,813 required artificial lung ventilation.

To date, 200,510 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the country, the Health Ministry said.
