The Polish Ministry of Health reported on Twitter that among the latest COVID-19 victims, 58 deaths were directly related to complications from coronavirus infection and another 387 patients also had comorbidities.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 493,765 people have been tested for coronavirus infection in the country, of whom 7,287 have died, authorities said.

Of the most recent infections, the largest number (3,942) was detected in the southern Silesian Voivodeship. In the Central Mazovian Voivodeship, which includes the capital Warsaw, 2,951 cases of infection have been confirmed. In the Western Voivodeship of Greater Poland, whose largest city is Poznan, 2,815 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.

As of Friday morning, 19,479 patients infected with coronavirus were treated in hospitals in the country, of which 1,703 required artificial lung ventilation.

To date, 188,675 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the country, the Health Ministry said.
