The Azerbaijani media reported on the provocations of the Nagorno-Karabakh army on Friday, just before the incident. An Azerbaijani soldier was reportedly injured during the provocations.

Nagorno-Karabakh has declared its independence from Azerbaijan, but no country in the world recognizes it. The clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan began on September 27. and lasted six weeks.

Through the mediation of Moscow, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a peace agreement that helped end the brutal fighting for the separatist region, although most of the details of the agreement remain unclear. According to the agreement, part of Nagorno-Karabakh was ceded to Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan did not officially end the state of war until Friday. Recently, the “victory over Armenia” was mentioned in a military parade.

In Armenia, protesters, in turn, protested against what they called a capitulation and demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian, now called a traitor.

More than 100 people protested against the prime minister on Friday.

This year, more than 4,600 people have been killed in clashes in the Nagorno-Karabakh region and beyond. The process of identifying the dead is not yet complete. To date, 2,900 remains have been inspected, reports the Armenian Ministry of Health.
