According to the National Public Health Laboratory (NVSPL) this Friday, 188 samples were analyzed in the Santara Clinic laboratory of the Vilnius University Hospital, of which 176 cases belong to the British or the so-called alpha variant. In addition, this laboratory identified five new cases of the B.1.620 virus line detected in Anykščiai for the first time in Lithuania and one case of the Brazilian or gamma variant.

In the laboratory of the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center, out of 48 samples, 43 cases belong to the British variety and four to the Anykščiai variety.

In the laboratory of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, out of 16 samples analyzed, three cases of British mutation, four cases of B.1.620 mutation were detected and the information of two more cases is being reviewed.

To date, a total of 11,562 samples have been sequenced in Lithuania, according to a sequencing project coordinated by the NSPL, 7,647 cases of the British strain, 13 cases from South Africa (beta), 190 cases of the Brazilian virus strain, and five Cases of the Brazilian virus strain have been detected in Anykščiai.
