“Not for nothing is it said that life is like a spiral: events and situations repeat themselves from time to time. The only difference is our reactions, attitudes, understanding.
At this time, my colleagues who have been working intensively in all the international airports of Lithuania and the seaports of Klaipėda since last Saturday, like last spring, are proof of this.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
The goodwill of travelers and the understanding of the importance of our work are incomparably better;
The assistance of the State Border Guard Service and the airport staff in the management of passenger flows and the verification of the validation codes of the passenger questionnaire makes the process much easier;
The process goes smoothly if travelers have completed the questionnaires correctly and completely on the NVSC website;
FIRST RESULTS:
From Saturday until this afternoon, we met more than a thousand travelers at the passenger checkpoints;
Almost 80 percent. they did not have the results of the diagnostic tests for Covid-19 disease and were therefore registered for the PCR tests on mobile sites;
About 3 percent. travelers had not previously completed questionnaires;
About 50 percent. previously filled out questionnaires still had to be corrected because they lacked epidemiologically relevant data or were filled in with errors.
IMPORTANT!
If you plan to return to Lithuania via the country’s airports or seaports, I suggest that you complete the passenger questionnaire HERE correctly and in advance before the trip.
In this case, your data will be immediately reviewed by our specialists and the whole procedure will take much longer than if the data provided by you still needs to be corrected, ”he wrote.
We remind you that after the Ministry of Health (SAM) tightens the control measures for the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) for travelers arriving and returning to Lithuania, additional medical-quarantine control procedures will be applied in ports maritime from Monday.
Travelers who have not taken the COVID-19 test are expected to be immediately registered for the COVID-19 test, as well as stricter procedures to verify the traveler questionnaire data.
The National Public Health Center (NVSC) points out that travelers must be prepared for these procedures, have all the necessary documents. This will ensure that the process runs smoothly, quickly and that both the travelers themselves and the personnel carrying out the medical-quarantine control have no problems.
NVSC remembers that all travelers must complete a traveler form and have a confirmation of the completed electronic form, the so-called QR code. The specialists will verify that the data provided in the questionnaire matches the personal data, so all passengers are encouraged to submit the data responsibly and honestly when completing the questionnaire so as not to waste extra time at the airport or seaport. To avoid problems, it is recommended to complete the electronic form within 24 hours at the latest. before the trip.
Passengers are also required to have documents proving that they have been tested for COVID-19 before arriving in Lithuania (48 hours before arrival). If a person plans to take the test in Lithuania, it is recommended to register in advance for the test with the Corona 1808 Hotline. If the passengers have not done so, the NVSC specialists will register them for the coronavirus diagnostic test at mobile points. It will be verified if the travelers will attend a survey; those who fail to do so may face administrative responsibilities, as such a survey is mandatory.
If a person is ill, please have a certificate from a medical institution at the airport or seaport stating that they have been confirmed COVID-19 disease by laboratory test no earlier than 90 days before returning / arriving in Lithuania. If the person has been vaccinated, documentation proving that it has been carried out according to the full vaccination schedule.
Documents must be translated into Lithuanian, English or Russian. 14 days of isolation are mandatory for arrivals from any country. It is possible to shorten it no earlier than 10 days after you have taken the COVID-19 test on your own and received a negative response.
