The social democratic mayor Nerijus Cesiulis will present the issue of the removal of the deputy mayor to the City Council for consideration next Thursday.
In early November, ten members of the Council expressed their mistrust at the “inaction and inadequate problem solving” of J. Šukevičienė.
They are the former mayor Česlovas Daugėla, the representatives of his committee Vilma Krušnienė and Gintautas Andriuškevičius, the representatives of the “citizens of Alytus” Valė Gibienė, Vilija Ramanauskienė and Vytautas Jastremskas, the “peasants” Dmitrijus Kačiurkauskas and Laura Rauskas and Laura Rauskas and Laura Rauskas, .
They criticize the deputy mayor for the “destabilizing” reorganization of education, the faulty budget allocation, the inadequate organization of the repairs of the Vidzgiris Basic School, in violation of the law, a contest for the position of director of the Sports Center and Medical Rehabilitation.
“I evaluate it negatively, because it is natural that the city needs work, those things are not beneficial for the city,” Deputy Mayor J. Šukevičienė told BNS.
Among other things, the same 10 council members are trying to abolish the mayor’s two advisory posts, currently Agnė Čeplinskienė and Aurelijus Jaruševičius are working as advisers.
Changes in power – since September
In late September, the council removed vice-conservative Šarūnas Klėger for distrust.
His dismissal was requested by the same Cap. Daugėla, G. Andriuškevičius, V. Krušnienė, V. Gibienė, V. Ramanauskienė, V. Jastremskas, T. Pačėsas, Valerijus Vencius and Valdemaras Chomičius.
Š. Kleger disliked them for being “passive, unable to attract real investment, not talking to the public.”
At the beginning of September, the then Director of Administration Rolandas Juonys was also removed by decision of the Council.
Last week, the council appointed former Social Democratic mayor Jurgis Krasnickas as managing director. His candidacy was nominated by Mayor N. Cesiulis.
J. Krasnickas led the city from 2012 to 2015.
Just before the first direct mayoral elections, an online audio recording in which Krasnick, using many uncensored words, berated the low salary of the mayor and the state, spoke of the misappropriation and redemption of “millions” of law enforcement.
In 2015, the Attorney General’s Office also launched a pre-trial investigation into possible abuses, but it was later terminated.
For several years, J. Krasnickas litigated with the former director of the Alytus City Theater, current board member L. Radzevičiūtė, who published the record.
