Diana Bučinskienė, Vice President of the Association of Hairdressers and Beauty Specialists Knowledge radio In the “Pulse of Business” program, she assured that many beauty specialists have been vaccinated or have become ill. However, beauty salons let clients decide for themselves whether to vaccinate or not.
“It just came to our attention then. The issue was discussed yesterday. Members of the association spoke, most of them against the Passport of Opportunities (GP). In our opinion, this government decision that beauty services only can be provided to people who meet the GP criteria will, of course, be detrimental to the beauty business.
Many teachers are immunized, they will be able to work, but the clients themselves really do not want to control and inspect. For each of us, our clients are dear, loved, we respect their personal self-determination and we do not divide with or without a GP. If we cannot accept clients without a GP, they will definitely find who will accept without him, ”says D. Bučinskienė.
According to her, with the entry into force of the GP, some hairdressers and beauty professionals will work underground.
“Our salary depends on the number of clients, some will go underground and will definitely work in the shadows. If that decision is made, we will lose not only the clients, but also some of the staff who work in the salon, ”said a representative of beauty specialists.

The woman estimates that about half of the clients are currently vaccinated or in favor of vaccines, the other half are not. You have no idea how a GP would fare.
“It is difficult to say if it would be ethical for us to control a client. “Many clients, we know them, we know a lot about them, tell us about their lives, but if a new client comes in, I don’t know what the order will be, how it will be appointed, how we can verify it.: Either the teacher himself or the administrator”, said D. Bučinskienė.
If not GP, the other way is full shutdown. However, hairdressers and beauty professionals don’t want this scenario either: “We really don’t want another quarantine, we want to work, but I don’t know if this is the best solution for a GP.”
“We are in favor of vaccines, but there are those who do not want to, so a beauty specialist will not force a client to get vaccinated and receive services,” he added.
The vice president of the Association of Barbers and Beauty Specialists questioned whether the new order would encourage residents to rush to manage their hairstyles: And if you have to come with a test, I don’t think people will apply for a test for their money and then come to the hairdresser. “
A few months ago, the head of the association said publicly that hairdressers and beauty professionals do not intend to raise the prices of services due to the pandemic, but now they are growing.
“We said we wouldn’t raise prices, but they went up slightly. The quarantine has certainly reduced the number of customers, but prices have probably gone up because of everything else, from email. Price increases, measured. They really did go up slightly. Yes. it remains the same, then of course the number of customers will decrease even more, it will definitely feel like a beauty business ”, considered D. Bučinskienė.
