“All those very important professions are behind the comorbidities, but I agree with the criticism and the mood. I think it will probably not matter to us in general, when we have already vaccinated people with comorbidities, which profession is more important than which and which is more critical to society than the other, ”the Prime Minister told News Radio on Thursday.
According to her, this could be in the second half of May, when Lithuania will receive large quantities of vaccines and the most important thing will be to be able to vaccinate them effectively, so it is planned that vaccination will take place in several directions at the same time. .
“So, I think the vaccination will be carried out on several tracks: one track will be down by age groups going through the youngest categories, the other track will be large teams where you can, for example, come to a large company and vaccinate many “. people who work in a large company at the same time, to expand that coverage, ”said I. Šimonytė.
She said that she had also discussed this with the Minister of Health Arūnas Dulkis.
According to the Prime Minister, the largest quantities of vaccines should arrive in Lithuania in May, but a stable and more abundant supply is already expected in April.
“I think that challenge will probably be the biggest for us in May, when we will get more than 100,000 Pfizers every week. Doses. By comparison, we are now getting 44 (thousands – BNS) and I think it is already bad,” said the Prime Minister. .
According to I. Šimonytė, so far the planning of the vaccination process has been hampered by changes in schedules and unstable supply. It is expected that these problems will not disappear in the near future and that vaccination will be possible at a higher rate.
“In April, it can be estimated that those supplies will be around 100,000. doses every week and now it will be easier to plan that work, ”he said.
Under the currently approved procedure, the vaccination of people with chronic diseases must be carried out in a variety of important functions: officials, law enforcement officials, shops and other contact workers. In some places, vaccination of these groups has already started.
