Due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation, Prime Minister-designate Ingrida is asking the outgoing Acting Prime Minister, Saulius Skvernelis, to make quarantine decisions today.

Complemented by the comment of S. Skvernelis.

Every day of delay costs the lives and health of many people. Decisions not made today will require the loss of corporate life in the coming months, I.imonyt says in a statement issued Wednesday.

If the entire Lithuanian health system catches fire and does not meet the required number of hospitalized patients and does not verify the necessary, timely and qualified assistance, the consequences of excessive mortality are already alarming, says I. imonyt.

The outgoing government will hold its last meeting on Wednesday. The Cabinet of Ministers, which is finishing its work on Monday, no longer plans to change the quarantine conditions.

Meanwhile, 3,128 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Lithuania during the last day, the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic. As of COVID-19, 31 men died Wednesday, the Statistics Department reported.

I am willing to publicly support and support the necessary decisions, thus sharing your responsibilities. Faced with an unprecedented crisis, when government actions claim corporate lives, we cannot and should not be guided by narrow calculations of political gain. I am confident that you, as a former duty, and current political leader as Prime Minister, will act with honor and tomorrow, Mr. Skvernel addresses the Prime Minister-designate.

The approval of the new government’s program in the Seimas is scheduled for Friday, as well as the swearing-in of the new cabinet, after which it will receive powers.

On Sunday there will be a meeting of the Council of Experts in the President to perfect the quarantine conditions. The cabinet adopted such changes on Monday, but President Gitan Nausda said they were insufficient.

The government has decided to ban more than two families or households as of Wednesday, older students have switched to all distance education, supermarkets must restrict the flow of customers, etc.

The outgoing prime minister did not find a specific offer

S. Skvernelis says that Prime Minister-designate Ingrida, who asked the company to self-quarantine, has not made any specific proposals on how to do so.

I appreciate the appointment of the Prime Minister-designate, but unfortunately once again there is no specific proposal that needs to be made to allow the situation to be more closely controlled and managed, S. Skvernelis said at the beginning of the last meeting of the outgoing Government Wednesday.

He recalled that the creations adopted by the Government on Monday had already entered into force on Wednesday, which he said are sufficient, and if necessary, the interim government may still call an extraordinary meeting.
