In the heart of the temporary capital, overlooking Kaunas City Hall, a French cuisine restaurant opened its doors, pampering guests with a tasting dinner of gourmet dishes and modern electronic music created by Leon Somov.

The restaurant, which opened its doors just a week ago, has already won the sympathy of Kaunas.

The owner Kęstutis Petraitis, who has gained experience in restaurants abroad, decided to return to his homeland and opened a restaurant in front of the Kaunas City Hall just a week ago, so he chose the name not by chance: the walls of the building also show a deep story.

“The whole interior of our restaurant is decorated with bricks. This is the heritage of the building, which we had no intention of changing. We also built the bar with bricks, the walls with bricks, so we had to choose the same name: after all, “Briques” means bricks when translated from French. We have always liked French food. We have visited France more than once, we have tasted the real flavors, so we want to share what we have discovered in Lithuania as well ”, says Kęstutis.

The famous residents of Kaunas, representatives of the world of entertainment and business, did not miss the great celebrations of the restaurant.

There are few restaurants in Kaunas that produce French food, although of course we have more special French dishes, they may not be prepared in the same way as for real French, and a little easier and adapted to Lithuanian taste. ” The owner of the restaurant.

Artūras Januškevičius, the restaurant’s chef, who has accumulated many years of experience in the culinary trade, revealed the secrets of true French cuisine during the event.

It turns out that the restaurant’s menu is guided not only by gourmet recipes, quality products, but also by cooking technologies discovered and famous in French cuisine.

“We pay a lot of attention to the preparation of the dish itself to get that true French flavor. Using sous vide technology, cooking in a low temperature machine, there are several options when the meat is prepared sous vide, with a traditional French red wine tomato sauce in which it is dipped. We also surprise our guests with French desserts, such as eclairs or cheesecake ”, the chef reveals the secret of the restaurant’s menu.

At the restaurant’s opening ceremony, guests also enjoyed another masterpiece of French cuisine: the tartin.

Well, the restaurant’s own chef shares recommendations on what to taste for Briques visitors.

“It seemed to many that they were supposed to be similar to bruskets, but these are French breads served with a variety of condiments. We also have a special beef steak with roasted spinach and mashed potatoes in the restaurant, which is still roasted before serving. The beef served with foie gras liver and red wine sauce is a truly gourmet combination. Well, and for those who want more interesting flavors, one of the favorites is a roasted octopus tentacle with roasted bacon, potatoes and whiskey sauce, ”the chef tempted.
