How do R. Kadyrov and his influential advisor earn? Helped by a mysterious businessman in Moscow

Proekt journalists explain what a photo of R. Kadyrov’s stunning villa in Centoro might have leaked to the portal in 2008 Dirty.ru, discovered that the construction of this project was supervised by businessman P. Krotov.

Crotov is believed to be the builder of these two Chechens, through whom Delimchanov and Kadyrov lead their multi-million dollar trading empires. They cannot act in public on their own because they hold important public office.

Penalties and charges

However, Proekt begins his story with a plot in another part of Russia, in a prestigious suburb of Moscow, where the magnificent villas abound.

By studying cadastral maps, reporters found that instead of three villas, only a small piece of land was scratched on one parcel. It only has one fence. And it belongs to P. Krotov.

The narrative story relates to the law firm Yegorov, Puginsky, Afanasyev and their partners, who in 2015 was embroiled in a dispute between the founders of the Karat fishing farm, Vitaly Orlov and Alexander Tugushev.

Tugušev disposed of Karat’s actions when he went to the civil service in 2003, but when he returned, he demanded that part of his property be returned to him. V. Orlov disagreed.

P. Krotov is said to have had no need of such actions at all, that Kazakh billionaire Kenes Rakishev and R. Kadyrov stood behind him and behind Tugushev.

It seems that P. Krotov is really covered by a powerful roof. He owns expensive properties in Rubliovka, Moscow itself, one apartment in Paris, apartments in Cannes and two apartments in Florida.

In addition, Crotov serves as Russia’s commercial attaché in Granada, a small island in the Caribbean known as a tax haven.

His clients are wealthy Russians, who are allowed to travel to 143 countries (the European Union, the United Kingdom, and China) without a visa. Under the Granada agreement with the US, it is possible to obtain a business visa and live in the United States.

Krotov himself, it is true, denies connections with influential Chechens and calls such speeches “pure delusions,” another Pavel Krotov supposedly related to A.Delimchanov.

At the same time, however, he emphasizes that the agreement with Galchev was legal and that he simply bought the Zlatoust electrometallurgical plant. But nothing more, that he is simply a “simple Russian Orthodox”.
