That is why this fruit, which has an extraordinary taste and great health benefits, is often found in shopping baskets, ”says Jolanta Sabaitienė, a fruit and vegetable expert at the Iki retail chain.

Avocados are especially popular with those who care not only about a balanced and healthy diet, but also about the image on the plate. That is why avocados are called the “most instagram” fruit. A few years ago a survey was conducted that revealed that three million photos of avocados are shared daily on Instagram.

However, avocados did not help to grow in this century, they were known about 7,000 years ago. According to the expert, the first avocado trees appeared in Mexico. It is in this country where the most avocados are grown per year, up to 1.5 million tons.

Honored official fruit. The avocado is such a solemn fruit that it has even been nurtured by the World Avocado Organization, which aims to promote avocados across the planet. Not only that, the annual World Avocado Cup is a regatta in San Diego that brings together enthusiasts from around the world.

Abundant in good materials. Avocados are not only photogenic, but also healthy fruits. An avocado contains twice the potassium of the original banana and is enriched with twenty different vitamins and minerals. Avocados are also valued for their fiber and healthy fats. Avocados are a source of vitamins C, E, K and B6, magnesium. They also supply the body with omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for the heart, regulate blood pressure, and improve mood.

Even the Oscar winners are growing up. Avocados have won not only the health food lovers or “instagramers”, but also the hearts of Hollywood stars. Actors like Tom Selleck and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx are among California avocado growers. The latter grows avocados on his 40-acre ranch.

It is better to get rid of cuticles. When preparing avocados, don’t forget to remove the skin. While the skins are great for composting, the skins of this fruit can be harmful and even poisonous to some animals. And especially for cats and dogs.

Bananas help to ripen. Green avocados need to be kept at room temperature so that they are fully ripe. But did you know that you can speed up this process even more by putting them in the simplest paper bag? Also, if you want to ripen the avocado as soon as possible and don’t want to wait for it to ripen on its own, place the banana in a paper bag with the avocado. This way, the avocados will ripen even faster.

Pasta with avocado and spinach sauce

Will need:

  • sunokusio avokado
  • a handful of spinach
  • a handful of walnuts
  • a handful of grated hard cheese
  • several cloves of garlic
  • favorite pasta
  • fresh basil

How to produce

Add avocado, spinach, walnuts, hard cheese, and garlic to the blender. Chop everything into a smooth dough. Cook the pasta in salted water for about 8-10 minutes. Mix the prepared sauce with the cooked pasta. Season with hard cheese and fresh basil.

Avocado and chocolate mousse

Will need:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 3-4 tablespoons of milk or herbal drink
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

How to produce

Put all the ingredients listed in the recipe in a blender and grind until you get a homogeneous mass. Put the dough in small jars and refrigerate for a few hours. Serve the mousse cold. Delicious!
