The performance of Šakiai “Gulbelė” in the trio of tournaments taking place in Doha has been completed. Lithuanian team in the second match 13:17 dropped into the world’s eighth Piran team from Slovenia and failed to break the group barrier without earning a single victory.
In the first match of Group A, the Lithuanians lost to Liman’s team from Serbia at 14:21.
Swan is ninth in the world ranking.
From the very beginning of the match, the Slovenians fled well ahead (6: 1) and although Gulbelė tried to save by scoring from under the basket (7:12), Piran secured victory with three quick attacks (17: 9).
Darius Tarvydas, who scored 6 points, played more productively in the ranks of the Šakiai team, Šarūnas Vingelis and Aurelijus Pukelis added 3, Paulius Beliavičius added 1.
Piran was led to victory by Gašper Ovnik, who scored 6 points, Simon Finzgar added 5 and Angze Srebovt added 3.
