Some doctors on Monday called on authorities to take tougher measures to combat the pandemic, linking the reluctance to do so with the elections. D. Grybauskaitė stated that there is some truth in that.

“I think some of these fears are probably met and they are accurate. I think that after the elections there will be those regulations and measures that are partially delayed,” said the politician.

He said there was already a lack of stricter restrictions on the collection of rules.

“It just came to our knowledge then. So is the budget. (…) The second wave of the pandemic has already started, with cooling it will only intensify and the wave will increase. (…) I think some decisions already they are late. They really need to be accepted. (…) (Delayed, aut. P.) By group meetings, reduction of social grouping. Those decisions are necessary, “he said.
