Government plans to decide to reduce quarantine for mass events

“I hope that the government agrees and that the organizers of theaters, concerts and massive events receive a calendar, in a positive epidemiological situation, without deteriorating, when, on what dates, what events both in public and indoors, with how many spectators they could take place. ” Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis said in the Seimas.

Health Minister Aurelius Veryga, meanwhile, said the biggest controversy is over the size of the events allowed.

“Due to some very large massive events, the decision to return them is unlikely. We are probably talking about hundreds of people, not thousands,” he said.

By facilitating quarantine, the government has already allowed events in open and closed spaces since May 30, with a maximum of 30 spectators present and a set distance between them.

A quarantine regime was introduced into the country on March 16 to stop the spread of the coronovirus and has so far been extended to May 31.
