According to Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, the challenges of other countries also impose very strict restrictions.
“It just came to our notice then. We probably could have done something much earlier than we do today. And maybe today we would be in a situation where we could use the traditional controls and somehow wait a little more relaxed for Christmas. ”Said the Prime Minister during the government meeting.
According to I. Šimonytė, the statistics of COVID-19 diseases are terrifying and very sad.
“It is difficult to say who is most to blame for the fact that the situation is what it is. Based on the workload we have, we cannot say with certainty where the worst situation is, or where there is the greatest risk, or at what point, with one or more closures, we could achieve the result. Obviously, we don’t know or see this now. We need to manage the situation so that we can get back to making very clear decisions that prevent risk where it is specifically. Now the risk is everywhere, ”said I. Šimonytė.
The situation does not improve
There were 2,849 cases of coronavirus in the country on Saturday.
24 people died.
The counties of Vilnius and Kaunas continue to “burn”, where yesterday 756 and 550 cases of the disease were registered, respectively.

The outgoing government led by Saulius Skvernelis has introduced additional quarantine restrictions since Wednesday..
It is true that, as the experts have pointed out, they are far from sufficient.
Although I. Šimonytė submitted a request on Wednesday to tighten the quarantine conditions, S. Skvernelis refused to do so, explaining that there are no rational proposals..
