Countries will be added to the list of affected countries based on the new indicator
Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga said about the changes in the morbidity rate during a press conference on Tuesday.
It will be proposed to abandon 25 cases for every 100,000. population and link the list of affected countries to our current situation, to include in the list of affected countries those countries where the morbidity rate would be at least 10 percent higher than ours, “said Health Minister A Veryga at a press conference.
According to him, this change will not affect third parties, they will be evaluated separately.
“In case of increased morbidity in Lithuania, it is appropriate to include in the list of affected countries only those countries where the risk of COVID-19 infection (coronavirus infection) is higher than in Lithuania. It is proposed to include in the list of affected countries those with a 14-day morbidity rate of 10%. and more exceeds the respective morbidity rate of the Republic of Lithuania ”, we wrote in the draft resolution.
At present, countries with an incidence of 100,000 population reaches 25 cases. Isolation for 14 days is mandatory for people arriving or passing through the affected countries, with certain exceptions.
Changes for massive events
The cabinet also decided on Wednesday to register participants for all events, regardless of their number. The events category would also include city festivals and fairs.
“There will be a proposal to classify events, fairs and other public events as events, abandoning the previous limit and imposing the requirement that all must be registered,” the minister announced on Tuesday.
Currently, organizers of cultural, entertainment, sporting and other events must register participants if the event has more than 300 people.
“It is proposed to expand the concept of events to make it clear that events also include non-commercial public events such as city festivals, festivals, etc. organized meetings of people.
It is also proposed to introduce the mandatory distribution of tickets to the event or the registration of participants for all events, regardless of the number of spectators / participants, and to introduce the obligation to control the access of spectators to the venue to ensure flow control and traceability of contacts ”, explains the draft resolution.
According to the representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, this is very important due to the massive public events underway where the organizers do not ensure control over the number of people.
“When anyone can enter the events and it is impossible to predict the number of participants and ensure compliance with other requirements,” the document reads.
These changes in events will better ensure that the main means of prevention of the spread of infection, distance and the main means of infection control, traceability and isolation of contact persons.
“So far it has not been possible to trace the contacts of up to 300 participants in the events, which means that it is not possible to identify the chain of transmission of the infection and control the process,” explains the document.
The specific hygiene and public health conditions will be established in the decisions of the operations director.
