Akmenė Mayor Vitaly Mitrofanov revealed that most of the factory workers are locals. Some of them returned from emigration and settled here.

He also mentioned that the real estate market has become more active, rents have risen in price. It is currently possible to rent an apartment in Naujoji Akmenė for an average of 150 euros. The mayor said that the direct benefits to the district’s budget are not great in principle, but without a doubt such a plant will revitalize almost every business or industry in the district and the city.

“By the way, these days we are celebrating the 70th anniversary of Akmenė district. The factory is a great birthday present,” said the mayor after the factory tour.

During the construction of this plant, a railway branch was built on the territory of the Akmenė Free Economic Zone and the surrounding roads were improved.
