Germany has included the Šiauliai region in the list of sites affected by coronavirus

Other regions of Lithuania are not included in the list of risk areas, so isolation and other virus management measures will not be applied.

According to the established procedure in Germany, a person coming from the Šiauliai region must register with a local health institution and remain in isolation for 14 days according to the procedure established in each German Länder.

Those who wish to shorten the period of isolation will be able to take a coronavirus test immediately upon arrival, which is free if the person comes from the affected region. If you get a negative test result, you no longer need to isolate yourself. Arrivals can also bring the results of a test that has not been done for more than 48 hours in a European Union country.

SAM recalls that in Germany an area is considered to be affected by a coronavirus if 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants are registered in 7 days.

There have even been several outbreaks in Šiauliai – Šiauliai Republican Hospital, Šiauliai GMP. On Thursday morning, Interior Minister Rita Tamašunienė announced that more than 30 police officers are currently infected with the coronavirus and about 80 more are in self-isolation. “The worst situation is in Šiauliai county and Raseiniai in particular,” the minister told LRT radio on Thursday.
