Evaldas Inčikas, director of the VSGA company, which runs six Casino Admiral casinos in Lithuania, says action should be taken as the situation worsens, but this should apply to all types of unnecessary businesses. He stressed that all safety requirements are guaranteed in the gambling house.

“If there is a solution, we will stick to it, but if the quarantine is announced, then maybe it should be advertised for all kinds of businesses, because beauty and tattoo salons will be able to work, stores will also be able to if they provide 10 square meters per person, but we can do the same. ” , – said E. Inčikas to BNS.

According to him, the closure involves significant economic losses, since they amounted to hundreds of thousands of euros during the spring of quarantine.

“We have experience, a very big financial blow. Like the previous quarantine, as well as this one, we will have to retain employees and not fire them, it depends on government subsidies and business support, ”said E. Inčikas.

According to him, since the beginning of autumn, the flow of visitors to gambling houses has already dropped by 50-60 percent.

Oleg Smirnov, director of the Tete-a-tete casino, said he did not support the government’s plans to stop the sector.

“Flows are already limited, the number of users is very small, the premises are large, we do not contribute even 10, but more square meters per person. We apply all measures: ventilation, registration, hygiene measures, we also ensure traceability. (…) We do not agree and we do not see any reason for that, “said O. Smirnov.

He recalled the case of Raseiniai, where gambling establishments continued to operate after the introduction of quarantine, but there were no cases of coronavirus.

“This means that these agencies can have full control over flows and traceability,” Smirnov said.

According to him, if the activity is suspended, some rooms will have to be reviewed and closed completely.

The quarantine of the country, which would be introduced starting Saturday for at least three weeks, will be decided by the government on Wednesday.
