This was confirmed by Bina’s representative, Lina Grinytė-Jauniškienė, on Tuesday.

She stated that one of the NVSC heads refused to comment on the reasons for the resignation, and the BNS could not be reached with G. Nariūnas himself.

Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys stated that he had not been informed that the NVSC was abandoning one of the institution’s top heads.

“I was not informed, I found out after leaving the meeting with the president,” the health minister told reporters on Tuesday.

According to him, the director of the NVSC should communicate about the resignation of the deputy and the reasons for it.

Recently, the institution’s leadership has come under fire from both Health Minister Arūnas Dulkis and Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė regarding the unclear death statistics.

Health Minister A. Dulkys has said that the center’s processes must be fundamentally reviewed.

The head of NVSC, Robertas Petraitis, explained in a press conference on Sunday that the situation due to more than a thousand unaccounted deaths is not due to the fault of the institution he ran, but to the lack of timely information provided by the hospitals. .

G.Nariūnas has been working as deputy director of NVSC since April 2016.
