It is better to do such a study in the fall, spring, but not in the summer, ”said Mindaugas Stankūnas, a professor at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.

BNS recalls that the population survey was conducted by researchers from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and Vilnius University. It showed that COVID-19 recurred from 1.3 to 2.8 percent. residents of six municipalities.
Two-thirds of the subjects did not experience specific COVID-19 symptoms.
Serological tests for COVID-19 were performed on invited volunteers in a population study. They show antibodies formed in the body. These studies look at human blood.
The investigation began on August 10. Samples were taken from the cities of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and the districts of Ukmergė, Tauragė and Zarasai.
A quarter of the subjects had previously been screened for coronavirus infection, and nearly half (40%) had a positive response.
