“Probably no institution suffers as much abuse as the Seimas. (…) I know the pride of the Minister of Finance, (…) but laws have been approved and, above all, the Civil Service Law. Everyone must enforce the laws, including the Minister of Finance, and even more so the Government. I have no idea when the funds are eliminated, where there is a clear point: wages and social security contributions, and everything is established. (…) This is how the laws passed by Lithuania do not apply to the Minister of Finance? ”Irena Degutienė, a member of the Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party Union Patria, got angry.
The MP was also bothered by the fact that 109 thousand were not found. for the management of the memorial of January 13.
“As January 13 approaches, everyone in the rostrum speaks loudly and with emotion, remembering the victims. But when a small amount is needed, 109 thousand cannot be found in the entire state budget to repair our monument of January 13, which is falling, collapsing, where many excursions come, ”said I. Degutienė.
The MEP was outraged by the attitude towards investment projects underway, where “everything is being boldly scratched.”
“Perhaps then parliamentary control is needed for the formation of the budget, how much money does the Ministry of Finance allocate for business trips, how much does other ministries allocate for business trips, perhaps then we will find money for the Seimas?”, I. Degutienė was angry .
The representatives in power also expressed their discontent
Representatives of the governing bodies of the Seimas Council also expressed their dissatisfaction with the proposed budget. Rima Baškien<2FEMININE>, a member of the Lithuanian Peasant Green Union, said her approach to the issue of the January 13 memorial was the most unacceptable.
“Let it be a small amount, but it shows an approach, and this approach to the arrangement of the monument of January 13 is fundamentally incomprehensible, when the Ministry of Finance does not want to see it, hear it or perhaps delve into it,” said R. Baškienė .
Gediminas Kirkilas, chairman of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Labor Party, said he was very surprised by the fact that the ongoing investment project was being ruined.
“When we go from telecommuting in the beginning, and it seems like we’ll be working for a long time, it’s very strange,” Kirkilas said.
After the meeting, the president of the social workers clarified that in 2021. practically all the projects in progress are suppressed in the credit projects.
“One of them is information systems, for example. We can’t really agree with that. The future Seimas will probably have to work a lot remotely. Of course, and the renovation of the monument on January 13, which is being postponed, is also a series of ongoing projects on legal matters, where there really is not much money, in the total amount, a little more than a million euros. Kirkilas said.
According to him, the proposals of the Ministry of Finance on the remuneration of employees are also unsatisfactory, which is not in line with the currently approved laws.
“There is almost the same money left, but we get it in such a way that we reduce (salaries), because according to the current procedure it also increases the qualifications, categories, seniority, etc., there is simply not enough (money),” said G. Kirkilas
Speakers at the meeting suggested returning the project to the Ministry of Finance for improvement.
According to BNS, in 2019 the budget of the Seimas Chancellery amounted to 31.8 million. 35,994 million euros in 2020. euros. More money has been allocated this year, in part because it is an election year and will require funding for severance pay for MPs and their aides.
The state budget project for next year is scheduled to be submitted to the Seimas on October 20.
